The FEI Newmarket Endurance Race 2005 will be sponsoring

NATIONAL SPINAL INJURIES CENTRE
The NSIC is a 106 bed dedicated spinal injuries centre providing comprehensive
care to adult patients with acute spinal injury and the lifelong complications of
cord injury.
We offer rehabilitation to children with spinal cord injury in a dedicated
paediatric unit.
The NSIC normally aims to admit patients with acute spinal cord and cauda
equine damage.
Who are medically fit for transfer, within the first 24 hours following traumatic
or stable non – progressive cord injury secondary to e.g vascular damage, infection
or haemorrhage.
Patients with cord injury requiring ventilation are also accepted.
Patients with established cord injury who become acutely unwell are admitted
dependant on availability of appropriate bed.
THE NSIC also admits children under the age of 16 for rehabilitation once
they have commenced mobilisation after injury.
Services provided by the Centre include medical, nursing, physio and occupational
therapy and outpatient appointments.
